~Emotional Triggers~

When do I eat? Hmmmm… since I started this program 30 Days to Life, I have become very aware of everything I do – and do not – put in my mouth. I’ve been aware for a while that I have a tendency to eat mindlessly while I’m working at the computer at night. My “weak” time – when I really crave those sweets – is after 8:00pm. Late night snacks. Cookies. Milk. Cake. Those are my favorites. There doesn’t seem to be any emotional trigger other than it’s a habit.

I also know that one of my patterns is to eat when I’m nervous or anxious. I have a hard time saying “no” to “goodies” that are homemade by my mom… especially her cookies. I feel like turning down her cookies is rejecting her as my mom. Whew… that’s a new one and it came clear just this week when I stepped into my mom’s home and it smelled like delicious, hot-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. My favorite. And she had made them just for me. How do I turn that down??!
